Pears in a decorative dish on counter.

Elderflower and Rose Lemonade Poached Pears

There’s something so timeless and elegant about poached pears. They take such a humble fruit and turn it into a centerpiece-worthy dessert—soft, syrupy, and beautifully fragrant. This version is infused with the delicate flavors of elderflower and rose, paired with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla for just the right amount of warmth. It’s floral, cozy, and feels like autumn elegance in a bowl.

What makes this recipe extra special is the poaching liquid: Belvour’s Elderflower & Rose Lemonade. It’s naturally floral and lightly sparkling, which gives the pears a dreamy fragrance while they gently simmer. Once the pears are tender, the liquid reduces into a glossy syrup that you drizzle over just before serving. A dollop of mascarpone or whipped cream takes it completely over the top.

This dessert is simple enough for a quiet night in, but also impressive enough to serve at a fall dinner party. You can garnish them with crushed pistachios for a little crunch, or even a few dried rose petals if you want that extra wow factor. Every bite is tender, floral, and sweetly spiced—a perfect way to welcome cozy season.

These Elderflower & Rose Poached Pears are the definition of cozy elegance—delicate, floral, and perfect for autumn gatherings. They look impressive but come together with very little effort, making them a dreamy seasonal dessert you’ll want to serve again and again.

Ingredients

  • 4 firm pears (Bosc or Anjou), peeled with stems intact
  • 2 ½ cups @belvoirusa Elderflower & Rose Lemonade
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla bean, split (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
  • 2 tbsp honey (optional, for extra depth)
  • Mascarpone or whipped cream (for serving)
  • Optional garnish: pistachios, dried rose petals

Directions

  1. Peel pears, leaving the stems intact, and trim bottoms slightly so they stand upright.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the lemonade, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean (or extract), and honey. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Add the pears and poach for 20–25 minutes, spooning liquid over them occasionally, until they are tender and fragrant.
  4. Remove pears carefully with a slotted spoon. Continue simmering the liquid for about 10 minutes, or until it thickens into a syrup.
  5. To serve, place each pear in a shallow bowl, drizzle with the syrup, and top with mascarpone or whipped cream. Sprinkle with pistachios or rose petals for a finishing touch.

Make-Ahead & Storage Tips

  • Make Ahead: You can poach the pears up to 1 day in advance. Keep them in their syrup in the fridge to absorb even more flavor.
  • Serving Tip: Warm them gently in the syrup on the stovetop before serving, or enjoy them chilled straight from the fridge for a refreshing twist.
  • Storage: Leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 2–3 days.
