Espresso Marble Yogurt Loaf

Soft, buttery, and beautifully swirled with rich espresso and chocolate flavor, this Espresso Marble Yogurt Loaf is the perfect cozy bake for coffee lovers. Made with creamy Greek yogurt and bold espresso concentrate, this loaf stays incredibly moist and tender while delivering the perfect balance of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee flavor in every slice.

The marble swirl gives this loaf such a beautiful bakery-style appearance while still being incredibly simple to make. The vanilla batter stays soft and buttery, while the espresso chocolate swirl adds richness and depth without overpowering the loaf. Itโ€™s the kind of recipe that feels perfect year-round โ€” cozy during colder months but still light enough to enjoy alongside iced coffee in the summer.

One of my favorite things about this loaf is how easy the espresso flavor is to incorporate. Instead of brewing coffee or dealing with espresso powder, this recipe uses Javy Coffee concentrate for a bold coffee flavor that mixes seamlessly into the batter. Combined with Greek yogurt, the result is an ultra-soft loaf with a tender crumb that stays moist for days.

Whether you enjoy it for breakfast, an afternoon coffee break, dessert, or a cozy weekend bake, this espresso marble loaf feels simple, comforting, and just a little bit elevated.

Why Greek Yogurt Makes This Loaf So Soft

Greek yogurt is one of the secret ingredients that makes this loaf incredibly moist and tender. It adds richness without making the loaf heavy while helping create a soft bakery-style crumb that stays fresh for days.

Combined with butter and eggs, the yogurt gives the loaf a texture that feels soft, fluffy, and almost melt-in-your-mouth with every bite.

Tips for the Perfect Marble Loaf

  • Use room temperature butter and eggs for the smoothest batter
  • Do not over-swirl the batter or the marble effect will disappear
  • Greek yogurt should be plain and full-fat for the best texture
  • Scrape down the mixing bowl often for an even batter
  • Let the loaf cool before slicing for cleaner swirls
  • Use a serrated knife for the neatest slices

  • As part of a brunch spread
  • As an easy breakfast loaf
  • For cozy weekend baking

The coffee and chocolate flavors make it feel rich and comforting while still being light enough to enjoy any time of day.

Bake Ahead & Storage

Make Ahead

This loaf can be baked 1โ€“2 days ahead of time and stored tightly wrapped at room temperature.

Storage

Store the loaf in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.

For longer storage:

  • Refrigerate for up to 1 week
  • Freeze slices individually for up to 2 months

The loaf stays incredibly moist even after a few days thanks to the Greek yogurt.

  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 cups + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

For the Espresso Chocolate Batter

How to Make Espresso Marble Yogurt Loaf

1. Prepare the Pan

Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF.

Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together:

  • Flour
  • Baking powder
  • Baking soda
  • Salt

Set aside.

3. Cream the Butter and Sugar

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar on medium speed for 3โ€“5 minutes until light and fluffy.

Scrape down the bowl as needed.

4. Add the Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Mix in the vanilla extract.

5. Add the Dry Ingredients and Yogurt

Reduce the mixer speed to low.

Mix in half of the dry ingredients, then add all of the Greek yogurt, followed by the remaining dry ingredients.

Increase the speed to medium and beat until the batter looks smooth and fluffy.

6. Make the Espresso Chocolate Batter

Scoop 1 1/2 cups of the prepared batter into a separate bowl.

Stir in:

  • Javy Coffee concentrate
  • Dutch-processed cocoa powder

Mix until smooth.

You will now have:

  • One bowl of vanilla batter
  • One bowl of espresso chocolate batter

7. Create the Marble Swirl

Using a spoon, drop alternating spoonfuls of vanilla batter and espresso chocolate batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Once all the batter is added, run a butter knife through the batter 2โ€“3 times to create a marbled swirl.

Do not overmix or the swirl pattern will disappear.

8. Bake

Bake for 50โ€“55 minutes, or until the loaf is golden and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Cool

Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 15 minutes.

Lift it out using the parchment paper and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Slice & Serve

Slice and serve with coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk.
